Ajoy Kr Sarkar
A renowned artist achieving many accolades in the field of painting, Mr. Ajoy Kumar Sarkar started his journey with a dream to attain international fame in his subject. Mr. Sarkar is considered to be the first artist to use the medium of nail as brush painting and popularized the form of art in national and international diaspora Since childhood, he demonstrated extraordinary talent in painting and after spending several years in conventional from of painting, he designed and created a new form of drawing (2005), nail as brush painting. This was the result of his continuous devotion and indomitable courage to explore and find modern approach in the field of painting.
In the year 2018, Mr. Ajoy received two highly acclaimed laurels; the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records which are of an exemplary significance showcasing his talent through nail as brush painting art form.
Early life and Education:
Mr. Sarkar was born in a middle class Bengali family in the city of Dinhata, Coochbehar, West Bengal, in the year 1973. He received his initial education from Nigamananda Saraswat Vidyalaya. After completion of his school education, he joined a diploma program in painting, under Bangiya Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata. Using Finger Nail as a Brush is his own mastering. He invented the idea and practiced/taught himself for more than 20 years. Mr. Sarkar later moved to Siliguri for his work, as Siliguri is believed to be the work destination for many in order to achieve their desired goal.

In 2018, Mr. Sarkar received Inferno Award in Mirik, West Bengal, India.
In the same year, he received World Painter’s Day award, by World Art Organization To salute his masterpieces and his passion of creating a diverse art form, Mr. Sarkar was felicitated with Agriculture Festival Award by Government of West Bengal (2019) Yuva Pathapradarshak Samman was felicitated to him by YTPL in the year of 2020 Mr. Ajoy’s remarkable art works was once again recognised and he was bestowed with Uttar Banga Utsav Award, in the year 2013 and 2016 His diverse form of Painting was appreciated and honored by felicitating him with Art and Culture Award from Shimla, H.P. in 2015.
He recently participated in official attempt “GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS” 2nd May 2021 for “Most photos of people Painting uploaded to Facebook in one hour, organized by Radart Foundation, India.
Mr. Ajoy, a widely celebrated name in the city, had also received many recognitions from other social authorities, namely Cosmos Mall (2016), North Bengal Flower Festival (2019), Bird Festival, Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary (2021),
Mr. Sarkar was awarded with North Bengal Cine Award (2021) to recognise his talent and to promote his innovative form of in the global arena.
Mr. Ajoy was recognised with Torso International online Art Competition & Auction 2021, organized by Torso India Team. He is also awarded for participating in online, Artdom Virtual Art Contest 2021 organised by Creative India Campaign. His painting exhibition expanded internationally also in which one of the exhibition done by him in Kathmandu, Nepal, organised by Nepal Art Council, Kathmandu in 2016. In 2020 he was again invited by Asian Rural Tourism Festival in Kakrivita, Nepal, where he astonished the arena. Again in 2018 and 2019 in Kalimpong and Sikkim he was the part of International Travel Artist Forum.
A go getter in his artistic life, his dreams are highly motivated by the essence of developing new and innovative art forms, and as his colleagues, on a lighter note rightly pointed out that one thing that can alter Mr. Ajoy’s limitless pace of achieving records, is Mr. Sarkar himself.
