Bhagwani Devi

One is never too old to set another goal or to create a new dream. Such an example has been created by a woman who at the age of 94-year-old won three medals in the senior citizen category in the 100m sprint at the World Masters Athletics Championships, 2022 in Tampere, Finland, Mrs. Bhagwani Devi Dagar. She is an Indian sprinter who hails from a small village named Khidka from Haryana. Belonging from a place where women are bounded to house boundaries, she proved to the world that no matter from where you belong and under which circumstances we live, if you have dedication and willingness to work boundlessly, there is always a way out.
She made India feel proud as she finished first with a gold medal with a timing of 24.74 seconds and also secured two bronze medals in shot put in above 90 years category. She had also been congratulated by Honorable Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya as well as the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for her marvelous triumph in World Masters Athletics Championships.
Not only this, it is truly noteworthy that Mrs. Bhagwani Devi had won many medals before this as well. She had secured three gold medals in the National Masters Athletics Championship held in Chennai after which she qualified to represent India for World Masters Athletics Championships in Finland. She has become a true source of inspiration.
Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings. With her ace intelligence and ambitions Mrs. Bhagwani is inspiring millions of people across the globe today particularly to those sleepy minds who restricted themselves from everything. She has shown the world that age is just a number. If there is determination then one can achieve their goals at any age.
