Neeraj Chopra
Neeraj Chopra, the first ever Indian boy who recently achieved the gold medal in athletics in the Olympics. His accomplishment came in the men’s javelin throw event with a throw of 87.58 meter in his second attempt.
He was an obese child, Chopra used to be teased a lot in his childhood by his friends and family. His father decided to enroll him in local gymnasium . Chopra was not interested in running and doing exercise as he got interested in javelin throw when he saw few senior practicing at the stadium.
Later he got enrolled in a gym in Panipat where javelin thrower Jaiveer Choudhary recognized his talent and became his first coach.
In 2014 Chpora won his first international medal in Bangkok. This is how the journey started of a golden boy.
Precisely, by winning the gold medal at the Olympics, Chopra became the first Indian Olympian to win a gold medal in athletics . He is only the second Indian to win an Individual Olympic gold medal after Abhinav Bindra, who won the gold medal in the men’s 10 m air rifle in the 2008 summer Olympics.
Chopra proved that nothing is impossible if you desire to achieve your goal.
